The Bayside BID is partnering with Council Member Paul Vallone and Age-friendly NYC to make Bayside a great place to work, play and shop for people all ages.

Did you know that there are over 1 million older New Yorkers living in the city and the number is only growing? Older New Yorkers visit local stores, restaurants, banks, pharmacies and salons every day. In order to create the best experience for everyone visiting and shopping in Bayside, the BID is partnering with Age-friendly NYC to make it more inclusive for older adults.

Age-friendly NYC was established in 2007 and is a partnership between the Office of the Mayor, the New York City Council and The New York Academy of Medicine that works to make all aspects of life in New York City more inclusive of older adults today and in the future.

Age-friendly NYC will be working with the Bayside BID to provide practical no-cost and low-cost strategies and resources local businesses can use to attract and better serve older New Yorkers. They will also be working with the BID to evaluate programming and events in order to better accommodate the preferences and needs of older guests.

Stay tuned for more information and upcoming chances to get involved!
