Council Member Paul Vallone Allocates New Waste & Recycling Bins to Bell Boulevard
Posted on: December 1, 2014, by : adminNortheast Queens has just taken a huge step towards cleaner streets. Through a $22,500 allocation to the City of New York Department of Sanitation (DSNY), Council Member Vallone (D-Bayside) has provided 45 new waste and recycling bins to District 19. These bins have been distributed throughout District 19 along already existing DSNY routes; 10 placed in Whitestone, 10 in Bayside, 10 in College Point and 5 in each Little Neck & Douglaston.
“These new trash receptacles will go a long way towards improving the cleanliness of our community,” said Council Member Vallone. “By increasing their availability in commercial areas, people will be encouraged to use them and I look forward to seeing less trash littering our streets. I thank the DSNY for working with me on this issue.”
“One of our goals at the Department of Sanitation is to provide all of our residents and visitors with clean streets. Initiatives such as this this one undertaken by Councilman Vallone in partnership with DSNY and local organizations help support that goal,” said Henry Ehrhardt, Director of Customer Relations for the DSNY.
“Thank you to Council Member Paul Vallone for securing the DSNY Recycling Bins for Bell Boulevard,” said Lyle Sclair, Executive Director of the Bayside Village BID. “These bins will be maintained as part of the Bayside Village BID’s ongoing supplemental sanitation services and overall beautification efforts along Bell Boulevard to create a more welcoming environment for the thousands of shoppers, residents and commuters who visit the area each day.”
