Posted on: September 3, 2013, by : adminThe Bayside Village first ever Weekend Walk was a huge success. The first closure of Bell Boulevard in over 20 years for a day long community event was attend by hundreds of families and individuals. With beautiful weather, the BID transformed Bell Boulevard from 39th Ave to 41st Ave was tranormed into pedestrian plaza. The giveaways, entertainment, food and other activities provided by the businesses along Bell Boulevard, it was a great day for the family.
Lucille Roberts kicked the day off bringing their Zumba class to Bell Boulevard. Local band Chicken Head kept the party going with their versions of American Classics. Emcee Jimmy James of Dance to the Music Entertainment made sure that everyone who came out had fun when he brought up Queen’s Dance Project and asking all of the kids in the audience to participate in their Hot Hula demonstration. Queen’s Dance Project followed up their Hot Hula class with a performance by their competition team.
The Mikey.k Project kept the party mood going with his original songs and his interpretation of current hit. The Boys and Girls of the Robert Mann Dance Studio, had the entire crowd standing and cheering with their performance. The Rogues rounded out the day with their brand of Rock and Roll.
